As most of you likely know, Lost Laowai is my “other” <strike>baby</strike> site. It’s one part multi-authored China blog and one part China expat community featuring China expat forums, a China job board, a Chinglish gallery and a hodgepodge collection of miscellaneous farrago.

I’m looking to add a few more authors to the roster so as to round out the topics and opinions posted on the blog. Check out post and if it appeals to you, please contact me about writing.

Hey all, as most know I run another little site called Lost Laowai. It’s a community site dedicated to demystifying China with a no-nonsense approach.

On top of the core site – featuring message boards, job listings, classifieds, and a number of other things – the site also plays host to a nifty little collaborative blog effort.

Largely I’ve pieced the site together over the last year or so, and it was finally time to sit down and seriously rethink its design. So, fast on the heels of this blog’s redesign, I’d like to present – Lost Laowai v2.0.

I’ll not say much about it here, as I want everyone to take the extra click and visit to see the features themselves, but basically I am trying to incorporate more Web 2.0 applications into the design to add to the interactivity and communal aspects of the site.

Head on over to the link (post) above and leave comments there on what you think. It’s not 100% yet, and there’s a few bugs I need to squish – but your feedback is much appreciated.

The China Blog Awards winners for 2007 have been announced!

It appears I have no taste when it comes to these things, as none but one of my pics took home a trophy.

As for myself, I came in 2nd to Beijing Boyce in the Personal Blogs category. I’m tickled, really. I mean, the fact that 155 people went and clicked a little plus sign to indicate they like this blog is a really nice thing.

Chinalyst is even handing out cool little “Runner Up” trophies for all half dozen “First Losers”.

And though I truly appreciate everyone who went the extra mile and voted for me, I’m afraid I’m not going to accept it.

The truth is, I feel a bit wrong displaying an award I created.

So, I’m happy to give the [deep breath] 2007 China Blog Awards Runner Up For Best Personal English-Language China Blog to the runner up runner up, Mysterious And Misplaced Logic of a Maniac Gone Awry – a great blog that everyone should read (and at least 149 people do!).

Props to the following:

Best China Business & Law Blog: China Law Blog (584 votes)

Best General China Blog: Sinocidal (289 votes)
