Hey Gao Xiaotian, I think until you are a foreigner in China, you cannot possibly understand this post. And though I'm certain some Chinese people wish to just "show their friendly", the large majority are doing nothing of the sort. It's a common misconception that because foreigners often don't understand the language that we don't understand someone's meaning on whether it is malicious or not. This is simply not true.

BTW: how does staring endlessly at a person equate to 'friendly'?

@Dezza: Not QUITE the same thing. :-)

@Phoebe: Japanese, of course, would be hired to serve the Chinese customers and clean up the park. They would be paid exorbitant salaries for this degrading work (much like foreign language teachers are now).

@Prince Roy: Yeah, my thesaurus was offline. It's changed ;-)

shouldn't you change the Canadian 'cage' to 'exhibit' or 'habitat'? 'Cage' is such a harsh word that is rarely used by zoos these days.

Yeah. I heard about that happening in a mall in Shanghai, too. But it's still a fabulous idea that hasn't been marketed nearly enough. What about sponsors? The zoo totally needs sponsors! I bet all the usual suspects (large corporations) could be availed upon to buy advertising space (just think: t-shirts, shoes, food, banners, tattoos...).
